Sarah found her room empty when she entered her bedchamber, but she heard voices in the Master's Suite. She then heard the arrival of the carriage at the front of the house. Sarah strolled to the window and opened the curtains. Her room, it seemed, looked down on the front drive. A carriage sat waiting.

She smiled when she noticed Samuel was on the box. She trusted to man to take no nonsense from William Edgewood. If the man tried to order him to take him anyplace other than the village Samuel wouldn't do it. It wouldn't surprise her if Samuel set the man down a few miles from the hamlet so William would have to walk the rest of the way. She saw the tutor strutted out of the house. She heard him complaining about something, but couldn't hear his words, so she opened the window.

Lambert was on the porch steps. “It is her ladyship's orders, sir. You are not to have access to the study.”

“I don't give a damn about her ladyship. I left something in the study and I need to retrieve it.”

“Here is your next quarterly salary,” Lambert said as he handed William an envelope. “You may replace whatever you left behind. If you ask me, her ladyship is too generous.”

“Good thing no one is asking you, old man,” William sneered.

Sarah watched as Samuel leaned over the side of the carriage and said to William gruffly, “Are ye in or are ye out. I donnae have all day.”

Sarah was right to place a footman at the Study door. She had not heard Jamie enter the bedchamber. Sarah jumped when he wrapped his arm around her waist. She realized he was completely naked when she could so clearly feel his erection through her clothing. ”Jamie, you are naked and standing in front of an open window.”

Jamie glanced out the window to see a disgruntled William enter the carriage. “Good. William is gone.”

“Yes, but you are still naked in front of an open window,” Sarah said.

“No one can see anything. You are shielding my nakedness,” Jamie said as he nibbled on the back of her neck.

“And if I stepped aside,” Sarah said. “Oh, stop that, Jamie. You are tickling my neck.”

“I would like to tickle something else right about now,” Jamie said suggestively.

“Jamie Stone, you have become quite bold,” Sarah said. She wouldn't mind being tickled anyplace Jamie had in mind.

Neither one cared when they heard the carriage move down the drive to the main road as Jamie turned Sarah into his arms. He lips slowly lowered to hers. His naked body was exposed for all the world to see.

William happened to glance up at Sarah's bedchamber window. His jaw dropped when he spied a naked Jamie with his arms around Sarah in a heated embrace.

Several hours later, Sarah still lay asleep in Jamie's arms. Her eyes open slowly. The room was dark, but daylight seeped around the edge of the closed curtain. She lightly ran her hand over his smooth muscled chest.
